We had the pleasure of planning Chinda and Hai’s wedding in February of 2018. When it was Chinda’s cousin Jenny’s turn to walk down the aisle she knew just where to look for the best Maui wedding planner. Jenny and Corey fell in love with the ever beautiful Olowalu Plantation House (where Chinda and Hai celebrated their nuptials!) however it was important to them to incorporate their own personal style so as to not feel too familiar and like just another tropical wedding in Hawaii. Read on to see how we incorporated European elegance, muted hues and delicate details for Jenny and Corey’s wedding day!
Jenny and Corey opted for a first look in a nearby palm tree grove. We love first looks when they’re chosen for the right reasons and for Jenny and Corey having an intimate moment to themselves before everyone arrived was the perfect way to start their marriage journey.
Following a heartfelt ceremony officiated by the groom’s stepfather, guests enjoyed some of the bride and groom’s favorite cocktails provided by Garnish Craft Cocktails and appetizers highlighting local ingredients such as ahi poke, kalua pork sliders and macadamia crusted prawns prepared by Sugar Beach catering. During cocktail hour, the bride and groom snuck off for some ocean side portraits before rejoining their guests to mingle and get ready for their grand entrance!
We infused soft, vintage European décor throughout, opting for grey hued wood round dining tables, crossback chairs and creamy layered linens. The simplistic sophistication inherent to their paper goods and ceremony was carried through to the reception where guests dined at a mix of rectangular and round tables looking out towards the beautiful bride and groom’s sweetheart set with a stunning ocean backdrop.
Following dinner, the bride and groom surprised their guests with a fire dancer performance before opening the dance floor and the photo booth for the rest of the evening’s festivities. Dessert was a local favorite, Leoda’s pies, with a small lilikoi cake for the bride and groom’s traditional cake cutting. As travel lovers, we can’t wait to see Jenny and Corey back on Maui in the future. Congrats to these two lovebirds!
